Ultimate 348 is a hybrid of retail on the ground floor with condominium offices spanning from the 2nd through the 6th floors. This project is a renovation of an existing wood joist-framed building. As per New York City’s building codes, several stories were added to the existing building maximizing the residential space, which required reinforcing the existing structure. Additionally, the brick façade was removed and replaced with a contemporary glass-steel update, a visual contrast to the adjacent red brick, white stone buildings.
